Galaxy Doh

Made up a quick batch of playdoh today using my recipe also posted on this blog. I guess I got a little carried away and came up with Galaxy Doh- the perfect fix for a dreary mid-February day. The previous recipe has been tweaked with each use and it now seems nearly perfect.
Here are the new additions:

Galaxy Doh

1 cup flour
1 cup water
2 t cream of tarter (get it in the spice aisle)
1 T mineral oil
1/2 c salt
a few drops of hard candy oil or essential oil (optional to make it smell nice!)
red food coloring or Wilton frosting color
glitter

Mix all ingredients together in a saucepan and stir over medium heat until thickened. Remove from pan and knead in food coloring until blended and smooth. Place in plastic bag or airtight container when cooled.

Mineral oil can be found in the pharmacy aisles of any supermarket and is completely odorless which makes the doh last much longer before smelling rancid like when using vegetable oil. Wilton cake frosting color makes a much deeper colored dough and the colors are limitless. Hard candy flavoring can be found in the baking aisle of the supermarket and offers a wide variety of smells just for fun. Finally, the glitter made the dough super cute and fun. In the end, it looked just like the beautiful, vast galaxy with endless stars...

Hi Cynthia. Someone passed along a link to one of your patterns offered on Etsy.

I thought you should know that Creative Commons BY-NC-ND doesn't mean what you think it means.

Creative Commons is about SHARING. The license terms you specify say that anyone may download your pattern for free. Anybody can give it away to anyone else as long as they don't charge anything for it, don't use it commercially, it's not changed, and you're identified as the creator.

ND does NOT mean "no distribution," it means "no derivative works."

As it stands, I *should* be able to get your pattern for free. But even if I have to buy it, your license terms still say that I can give it away to anyone I want according to the terms above.

I suspect that you don't really mean that.

If you only want to sell your patterns, what you want is traditional copyright, not Creative Commons.

I like the color that is fantastic and unique, but the shape is not attractive. It's better to add some small stars.
